FATCAT politicians are claiming up to pounds 150,000 a year in expenses, shock new figures will show today.
The total expenses bill is set to top pounds 80million - an average of pounds 121,000 for each of the 659 MPs - on top of their pounds 57,485 salaries.
And senior Commons sources say the internal accounts published on the internet will show some MPs claiming even more.
Each MP is entitled to claim up to pounds 117,671 in office, staff and living expenses. They also have unlimited travel expenses at a rate of 57.7p per mile for travel to and from their constituencies.
Let alone the pounds 2.65million they declare in "other interests", such as speeches and industry jobs.
Senior MPs have already appealed for public "understanding" over the payments. But there is expected to be a public outcry.
MPs are even said to have returned dubious sums before the law that will make their accounts public comes into effect in January.
